Undocumented Students

Undocumented students and students with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) do not qualify for federal or state aid in Florida, including Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship, Bright Futures, National Merit, and federal loans and grants.

These are a few scholarship opportunities for undocumented students:
CHISPAS Scholarships – chispasuf.com
OCIYU Scholarship – ociyu.org/ociyu-scholarship

Additional information and resources for undocumented students and DACA can be found on the UF Division of Student Life and the Florida Department of Education websites.

Tuition

Undocumented students can apply for an out-of-state fee waiver if they:

  • Attended a secondary school in Florida for three consecutive years immediately before graduating from a high school in this state.
  • Applied for enrollment in an institute of higher education within 24 months after high school graduation.

Find the Out-of-State Fee Waiver.
Find the Florida Residency Declaration for Tuition Purposes.

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)

DACA is an executive order that benefits those who immigrated as children and meet several guidelines. DACA recipients are eligible for work authorization and can get a Social Security Number and, in most cases, a Driver’s License.
