Check your ONE.UF portal for any outstanding “To Do” items and “Holds” to make sure you have submitted or completed all requirements necessary to receive your financial aid. You must complete all federal financial aid requirements before any federal funds can be disbursed to you.
Your Financial Aid Disbursement
- Your aid will be calculated and disbursed based on your total spring enrollment at the end of Drop/Add. If you add classes after Drop/Add those classes will NOT be used in calculating your eligibility for aid.
- Disbursement of aid for students who have completed all federal requirements and are enrolled in 15 credit hours (undergraduates) or 12 credit hours (graduates) will begin the first week of classes.
- Need funding before the end of drop/add? A short-term loan or interim grant may be an option. Contact the UF OneStop for more information.
- If you are enrolled less than 15 credit hours (undergraduates) or 12 credit hours (graduates), your financial aid (including loans) will be held until after the end of the Drop/Add period. Read more about determining financial aid minimum enrollment requirements.
- Florida Bright Futures Scholarships, Pell Grants, and Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarships will be disbursed after Drop/Add ends.
- Starting fall 2024, Pell Grant amounts will be based on exact enrollment.
- Due to federal regulations, you can only use financial aid for classes that count toward your declared degree or certificate program.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.
To receive the best financial aid offer, complete the FAFSA as early as possible. At UF, the 2025-26 FAFSA provides information on your aid eligibility for fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026.
In order for UF Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to consider you for a financial aid package, you must be a degree-seeking, admitted student. Due to federal regulations, you can only use financial aid for classes that count toward your declared degree or certificate program.
UF Federal School Code 001535.
Simplifying the financial aid application process: the FAFSA Simplification Act is an initiative by the United States Department of Education to make applying for federal student aid easier for students.
The 2024–25 FAFSA form expands eligibility for federal student aid, including Pell Grants, and provides a streamlined user experience. 610,000 new students from low-income backgrounds will be eligible to receive Federal Pell Grants due to updates to student aid calculations. Plus, applicants will be able to skip as many as 26 questions, depending on their individual circumstances. Some applicants could answer as few as 18 questions, which could take less than 10 minutes.
The 2025 FAFSA Extravaganza will be held on the ground floor of the Reitz Union on February 19, 2025.
