2025-26 Financial Aid Checklist

October

  • Student and one parent should individually obtain an FSA ID using https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/. You must have an FSA ID to complete a FAFSA.
  • Students can complete and submit their 2026-27 FAFSA starting October 1, 2025. Although you must be accepted for enrollment at UF before you are considered for financial aid, you should apply for aid before being admitted.
  • Begin searching for outside scholarships in October using the Scholarship Search Resources.
  • Begin requesting letters of recommendation for scholarship applications.

November

December

  • Review your processed 2026-2027 FAFSA by checking your FAFSA Submission Summary. Correct any mistakes online at studentaid.gov.

January

February

  • Students can complete and submit their 2026-2027 FAFSA starting October 1, 2025. Although you must be accepted for enrollment at UF before you are considered for financial aid, you should apply for aid before being admitted.
  • Review your processed 2026-2027 FAFSA by checking your FAFSA Submission Summary. Correct any mistakes online at studentaid.gov.
  • For summer-semester admitted students, complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA, in addition to completing the 2026-2027 FAFSA starting October 1, 2025.
  • For summer-semester admitted students, review your processed 2025-2026 FAFSA by checking your FAFSA Submission Summary. Correct any mistakes online at studentaid.gov.

March

  • UF Admissions Regular Decision Day
  • Remember to check the status of your FAFSA and your financial aid summary on ONE.UF.
  • Once UF receives your application information and you’ve been admitted to UF, SFA will offer you an aid package based on your eligibility. In order for us to consider you for a financial aid offer, you must be a degree-seeking admitted student.
  • You will receive a Notification of Financial Aid Offer (“The Financial Aid Offer”) from SFA via email. Review it carefully and follow any instructions that pertain to you.

April

  • Review your financial aid summary on ONE.UF.
  • If your application is selected for verification, you will receive an email from SFA to check your “To-Dos” list on ONE.UF for the documents you are required to provide. Do not submit any documents unless you are requested to do so.
  • If SFA requests any additional documentation (e.g. tax return transcripts, W-2s, verification worksheet, etc.), be sure to respond immediately.

May

  • Review your financial aid summary status on ONE.UF.
  • Summer B admits should begin attending Preview.
  • Summer B admits must complete their 2025-26 FAFSA for 2026 summer financial aid in addition to the 2026-27 FAFSA for 2026 fall aid.

June

July

  • Begin to notify SFA if you receive any outside scholarships. Use ONE.UF, “Additional Aid Reporting.”
  • Student borrowers should make sure that they have completed entrance counseling and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at Studentaid.gov.
  • Future Fall/Spring/Summer tuition costs available on the University Bursar website.

August

  • Students admitted for fall should review their e-bills and campus finances on ONE.UF.
  • The Fall tuition payment deadlines are available. See additional dates and deadlines for other semesters.
  • Students can begin looking for on-campus jobs using UF Jobs.
  • Financial aid funds begin disbursing toward student account charges. Funds will not disburse if students have not completed all requirements. Check your “Action Items/To-Dos” on ONE.UF.

September

  • Prepare for the upcoming 2027-28 FAFSA by gathering 2025 tax information.
