This fund was established in 2014 by the trust of Norman F. Childers to support scholarships to students studying fruit science in the University of Florida institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Horticultural Sciences Department.

Student must be a full-time graduate or Ph.D. student currently enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida. Priority will be given to any student majoring in the Food and Resource Economics Department. This student must demonstrate some type of leadership position and extracurricular activities in the department/college/university. Student must have an interest in pursuing a career in agriculture or related field. International student, U.S. Citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply. Financial need is considered, but not required.
