Students studying classics; expected to write a brief report to the Department of Classics at the conclusion of the term describing his/her study activities in Italy; nominated by a department faculty member and selected by department’s award committee. Student must be enrolled in a major or minor graduate degree program in Classics at the time of the nomination and must demonstrate the superior writing skills, curiosity, scholarship and deep interest in Rome legacy exemplified by the late author, Joseph Jay Deiss.
